For Admins

First, login, then go here: https://civ-core.indivisiblepv.info/wp-admin/

(Note: the link to this page on the left panel will only be visible to Admin users.)

Add User

  • Go to the User, All Users page.
  • Verify the user doesn’t already exist. If they do, click “Password Reset” for their user, since they have probably forgotten they have a user account for this site.
  • Click on “Add User”
  • User Name – add their email
  • Email
  • First Name – optional
  • Last Name – optional, or last name initial
  • Website – optional
  • Password – accept what is shown, because the User will be resetting it.
  • Send User Notification – check the box
  • Role – details can be found here: Roles and Capabilities
    • Subscriber – we don’t use this one because our blog doesn’t send out emails.
    • Contributor – somebody who can write and manage their own posts but cannot publish them. An Editor user can publish their posts.
    • Author – somebody who can publish and manage their own posts. They have shown they can follow the site’s “style.”
    • Editor – somebody who can publish and manage others’ posts (and pages). Editors can also add/remove tags and categories.
    • Administrator – somebody who has access to all the administration features within a single site. I.e., plugins, menus, etc. Do we trust them with the entire site?
  • Click on “Add User”
  • Send a Note to the new user to help them get started.

Note to New User

Copy/paste the following text and send it to the new user. This would also be sent if their password is reset.

this and go to the site at https://civ-core.indivisiblepv.info
(The link is in the upper-left corner of the wp-admin page).

See the “For Authors” link on the left panel to get to the directions on how to add posts to the site.

In addition to copying items from the indivisiblepv.com site, feel free to add links to other articles or books that you think will help strengthen our democracy.

If you have questions or need help, feel free to contact me.
