Site Updates – What’s new
Site Organization
There are two main purposes for this site:
- Where are events, and what can I do?
- Where can I find more information to dig deeper? (this page)
There are many ways to find information on this site. Most of the items on this site are organized as posts rather than pages. The advantages of this style over only pages:
- Events, books, videos, etc., are single posts, so they can be found in multiple ways.
- Categories and tags can be used to quickly bring up related posts.
- Categories and tags also help the AI Chat Bot
- Standard keyword searching can also be used.
- Custom RSS feeds can be created with the tags, so our posts can be shared with other sites and RSS readers.
The posts are in date order. The dates are the publication dates of the articles, books, or videos they reference (not the date when posted here). “Organization” posts will be set to the organization’s “founding” date.
Event posts are an exception: they will have the date of addition, will expire after the event’s date, and will sort in “expire date” order
Menus
The menu is in the left column, or if the window is narrow (on a mobile), look for the menu icon (≡ or ⋮) in the upper right.
The menus will take you to special pages or select important posts.
Claude Chat
Our new “chatbot” uses A.I. to help you find information on the IPV website. If you don’t trust A.I., just use the menus and tags provided on our site.
This is an experimental interface that uses the Claude model.
Keyword Searching
A couple of search forms are available. These can be used to find posts with keywords and multiple categories or tags you are interested in.
Posts
Event Posts
- Actions: These are items that need to be done by a certain date. For example, comment on a proposed law.
- All Events – List all event posts.
- IPV Events and Meetings – Only list the IPV-sponsored events.
- Add Event Form – Suggest an event to be added to the site.
- Calendar – Most events will be put on the IPV calendar.
Once the event/meeting date has passed, the post will be removed or updated with photos or meeting minutes. And it will be tagged with “past-event.“
Featured Posts
These are posts that we think are important. The featured posts will likely be rotated. Tag: feature. The feature-tagged posts will also be available as an RSS feed.
Latest Posts
See a list of the latest posts added to the site (not including events or past-events).

This page highlights some quick links to posts.
Find Posts by Category or Tag
Clicking on a category or tag name will list all the posts with that category or tag name. A post’s categories and tags are listed at the bottom of the post and can be clicked to view related posts.
The Category and Tag page describes all categories and tags on this site. It will also list the count of posts that use them.
Archive – Find or browse posts by date
If you know the year and/or month of a post, you can filter to show the posts for that year or month.
News
- Local or Current News – these are news posts that will be of local or current interest. After a while, old new items will likely be removed. Tag: news. The news-tagged posts will also be available in an RSS feed.
- Newsfeed Sites – news organizations post that provide feeds of their latest articles. Category: newsfeed
- Newsfeed Page – include all news organizations, with feeds, all on one page. Useful for a quick overview.
